Nationwide Movement to Save the Constitution Announced; Massive Rally in Delhi on December 13: Dr. Udit Raj

Representatives from 20 states attend DOMA Parisangh National Conference; call for unity to defend social justice and constitutional rights

New Delhi, October 18, 2026:

The Dalit, OBC, Minorities and Adivasi Organisations Confederation (DOMA Parisangh) organised a national conference today at the NDMC Convention Hall, New Delhi, attended by representatives, social activists and intellectuals from 20 states.

Addressing the conference, Dr. Udit Raj, former Member of Parliament and National Chairman of DOMA Parisangh, raised a critical question: “Why are we continuously losing the battle for our rights?”

He said that several leaders who launched movements in the names of Phule, Shahu and Ambedkar had mobilised their respective castes primarily to gain political power. Instead of strengthening Bahujan unity, this approach created divisions and weakened the broader movement for social justice.

Dr. Udit Raj stated, “When students, youth, lawyers and civil society are fighting on the streets to save the Constitution, how can Dalits, OBCs, minorities and Adivasis remain silent spectators? Those who have benefited the most from constitutional rights have an even greater responsibility to defend them.”

Speakers at the conference expressed serious concern over growing threats to the Constitution and democracy. They raised allegations of large-scale deletion of Dalit and minority voters from electoral rolls and resolved to continue their struggle until an OBC caste census is conducted.

The conference also strongly opposed the proposed amendments to the Foreign Contribution Regulation Act (FCRA), describing them as an attempt to undermine the autonomy of minority institutions. Speakers alleged that the RSS seeks to establish control over Christian and Muslim institutions. It was decided to launch awareness campaigns and protests at both national and international levels.

The conference unanimously resolved to organise a massive “Save Constitution Rally” at Ramlila Maidan, New Delhi, on December 13, 2026.

Dr. Udit Raj declared, “Statements and resolutions alone will no longer suffice. We must rise above caste divisions, unite and take our struggle to the streets. A powerful people’s movement is the only way to defend the Constitution, democracy and social justice.”
