Rally canceled due to BJP's conspiracy letter
DOMA Pledges to Save the Constitution at Dr. Ambedkar's Statue
New Delhi, November 29, 2025.
Dr. Udit Raj, Ex. MP and National Chairman of the Confederation of Dalit, OBC, Minorities and Aadivasi Organizations (DOMA Parisangh), addressed a press conference today, stating that a rally was scheduled to be held at Delhi's Ramlila Maidan on November 30th to protect the Constitution and votes, but the BJP canceled it. This conspiracy was discovered today. The rally's permission was revoked based on a complaint from Mr. Shashank Shekhar Tripathi, Coordinator of the Kashi Region BJP Legal Cell. His complaint states, "Maharally – Vote Hamara, Adhikar Hamara," which is false. He alleges that this rally will divide society, send an inflammatory message, and that claiming the Constitution is in danger is unconstitutional. The complaint alleges that the rally will cause public disorder. There are no elections in the ward where the Ramlila Maidan is located, yet the Model Code of Conduct was cited.
The Delhi Police cited the gathering of a large crowd as the reason for not granting the NOC. Our objective was, is, and will remain to protect the Constitution and the vote. We have canceled our rally and changed it to a program where Doma will take an oath to protect the Constitution at the Ambedkar statue. We are people who believe in the rule of law. We applied to book Ramlila Maidan on July 4, 2025, but were ultimately denied. Why? The police said they would not grant permission because a large number of people would attend. It is also true that a crowd of lakhs was expected. One reason is that it seems the protests against SIR have intensified across the country and this rally would have further intensified it. People from across the country were preparing to travel by train, air, and other means, and the IB has all the information, and those coming from far away are being turned back at the railway station. We are informing everyone not to come to Delhi.
DOMA Parisangh is a social and cultural organization, so we have canceled our decision to hold the rally. Despite this, some people will come. We cannot abandon the campaign to save the Constitution, so it has been decided that we will take a pledge to save the Constitution at the Ambedkar statue at Ambedkar Bhawan, Rani Jhansi Road, but we will definitely hold a larger rally in the future. Not allowing the rally at Ramlila Maidan shows that the Bahujan Samaj cannot even fight for its rights.
